This phallic-shaped table lamp evokes the Hindu Lignam – one of the incarnations of the Hindu deity Shiva, the God of creation and destruction, and a symbol of creative power.
The numerous little incandescent glass beads of which it is made up symbolize the omnipotence and the omniscience of this complex deity.
The Lignam, united at its base – the symbol of the feminine sexual organ – also represents the abated opposition of masculinity and femininity, the power of knowledge, and consciousness as a pillar of reality. Is there any better way to express a lamp?
