Crystallisation is an innovative concept in the manufacture of lamps that use metal sieves to diffuse the light. The light source consists of a multitude of LEDs attached to the inside of the ring that holds the two sieves together. The light is emitted towards the centre of the lamp between the two sieves, which diffuse this light towards the front and rear.
The pattern of these sieves is completely random and is never repeated. It is produced by the structure adopted by the metals when they solidify: crystallisation.
The lamp is shaped like a round pancake suspended in an upright position within its base. Its appearance is just as mysterious in the switched-off as in the switched-on state.
