The Copper pendant was designed to illuminate the dining room of a 17th century castle. The aim was to obtain a pendant providing sufficient glare-free light and of modern design but adapted to the historical nature of the room.
These rather conflicting requirements led to the highlighting of a material – copper – whose modernity is enhanced by the use of a rather thin sheet possessing warmth as well as a certain rustic character due to its natural patina. The sheet of pure copper acts simultaneously as a reflector for the indirect light and as the structure of the lamp in which the gold reflector light bulbs are fitted.
The resulting composition is extremely light and almost two-dimensional.
